Assessment

In the field of Assessment, support can be offered to address the different tiers of the Assessment ranging from classroom AFL to statutory end of key stage assessment practices. Catherine is an approved STA external moderator and approved moderator trainer for both KS1 and KS2.

Consultancy offered:

  • Moderation of reading, writing and / or mathematics

Moderation for all year groups across the academic year in reading, writing and mathematics. Schools typically book several sessions across the year to match the assessment points  within the school. Sessions are based on one-to-one discussions with individual  teachers or year group teams and evidence  to support assessment judgements is considered. Next steps and possible teaching and learning points are identified.

  • Statutory Assessment support for colleagues working at the end of KS1 and/ or KS2

For teachers new to Year 2 or Year 6, this consultancy offers a one-to-one opportunity to explore and consider the key responsibilities and focuses relating to Statutory Assessment. Teachers will gain an overview of all the relevant and up-to-date information regarding statutory processes, documentation and advice for mapping the academic year in order to adhere to statutory deadlines.

  • Updating Assessment for Learning strategies for high impact

This is an opportunity to review current Assessment for Learning (AfL) practices within/ across school, and share understanding of how to maximise the impact of AfL strategies, including marking and feedback. This support aims to support teachers in bringing their AfL practices up-to-date by drawing on current thinking and research.

The above offers are just some of the more popular consultancy options for Assessment. However all consultancy is tailored and adapted to meet the individual needs of each school, so please contact Catherine directly to discuss your individual requirements.
